GENERAL
The avionics system in the Learjet 45 incor-
porates many advanced features into a “glass
cockpit” design. A glossary of acronyms and
abbreviations is provided in the Appendix
tab of this manual.
The avionics system includes display, flight
director guidance, autopilot, yaw damper, pri-
mary trim, configuration trim, Mach trim, and
rudder boost functions. These functions are all
managed through separate circuit cards in two
display guidance computers. These comput-
ers are referred to as IC-600 computers or
IC/SG (integrated computer/symbol genera-
tor). Each of the IC-600s contains circuitry that
performs the symbol generation (SG) function
for the EFIS.
For the display function, the IC-600s receive
data from the DAUs, ADCs, AHRS, display
controllers, etc. and then generate the dis-
plays on the display units. Each IC-600 con-
tains a symbol generator for the purpose of
generating the various displays. The IC/SG,
ADC, AHRS and DAUs are all dual (left and
right or No.1 and No.2) installation. Additional
redundancy features on the DAUs is that each
unit is also dual channel (CH A and CH B).
