tion to the operator that IC/SG reversion
is selected and the display processing
function is provided by a single IC-600.
The operating IC-600 will display a nor-
mal on-side PFD and EICAS, and it will
generate a copy of the PFD and EICAS
for the cross-side display units. Both in-
board DUs will display the EICAS format.
Comparison monitor annunciations –
These annunciations are displayed in
Figure 16-32. All comparison monitors
will flash on the PFD for 10 seconds upon
activation, then remain steady.
FMS Mode Annunciations
Flight management system annunciations are
displayed to the left of the compass display as
illustrated in Figure 16-32. "APP" or "TERM"
will be displayed whenever the selected nav-
igation source is the FMS and the appropriate
approach modes and lateral scaling are ac-
tive.
When FMS is the navigation source and the
HSI or ARC format is used, a CRS/DTRK de-
viation bar (CDI) will show deviation from de-
sired track. The lateral deviation scale changes
depending on the mode the FMS is operating
in (enroute, terminal or approach). Enroute,
full scale deflection is +
5 NM, terminal
(TERM) is +
1 NM, and approach (APP) is +
0.3 NM. In a cross-track mode, the annunci-
ation "SXTK" will appear. Should a FMS mes-
sage warning be initiated to alert the pilot, an
annunciation will appear, just to the right of
the current digital heading display.
Additional FMS generated navigational
annunciations are:
Waypoint alert shown as "WPT"
Dead reckoning shown as "DR"
GPS integrity shown as "INTEG"
FMS lateral submode annunciations are
displayed just beneath the cross-track
mode annunciation (SXTK), and are:
Selected heading shown as "HDGSEL"
Heading intercept shown as "HDGINT"
Heading procedure turn shown as
"PRCHDG"
FMS generated vertical track alert, shown
as "VTA" appears just above the vertical
deviation scale and replaces VNV while
active.
FMS Map Mode
With FMS selected as the active navigation
source, a navigation map (MAP) can be dis-
played on the PFD. The presentation can dis-
play a flight plan of up to 4 waypoints (from
the FMS), and 2 VORTAC symbols on the
PFD MAP display. This display is only avail-
able to a PFD that is not paired with an MFD
display. A MFD format is normally selected
on DU3 and in this case, MAP can not be se-
lected on the copilot PFD.
The color, approximate size and location of the
annunciations are as illustrated in Figure 16-
32. Navigation symbology that is not available
with the map display include: course/desired
track pointer, deviation bar and scale, bearing
pointers and the To/From triangle. To remove
the map display from the PFD format, select
HSI or ARC format with the HSI button, or se-
lect NAV1 or NAV2 nav source on the display
controller.
Additional features of the FMS map display are:
Waypoints – The waypoint symbol is a
four pointed star, positioned by the FMS
at the relative Latitude and Longitude,
referenced by the present position. Each
waypoint is connected by the flight plan
in a sequence established by the naviga-
tion source. The identifier is located to the
right of the symbol.
Lateral deviation – Beneath the fixed
wing airplane symbol a digital display
of lateral deviation will appear when in
map mode. Displayed will be the distance
