Close thecenter air vent (/ page 101) and
air vents forthe headroom (/ page102) and
rear compartment (/ page102).
Misting on theoutside of windows
#
Switchonthe windshield wiper (/ page92).
Switching air-recirculation mode on or off
#
Press the h button.
The interior air is recirculated.
The air-recirculation mode switches offautomati‐
cally.

When air-recirculation mode is switched on,
thewindows mayfog up morequickly. Switch
on air-recirculation mode only briefly.
Air-recirculation mode will automatically switch
on in thefollowing cases:

At high outside temperatures
R
While thevehicle is driving through atunnel
(vehicles with3-zoneautomatic climatecon‐
trol only)
R
When thewindshield wipersare switched on
(/ page92)
The indicator lamponthe h button will not
light up in this case. Afteramaximumof
30 minutes, outsideair is automatically intro‐
duced again.
Switching thewindshield heater on and off

In theevent of high outsidetemperatures,
thewindshield heater maynot switchon.

Press the Î button.
If theindicator lamponthe button lights up,
thewindshield heater has switched on.

The windshield heater switches offautomati‐
cally afterafew minutes.

If thebatteryvoltageistoo low, it maynot be
possible to switchthe windshield heater on.
If thebatteryvoltagebecomes toolow while
thewindshield heater is in operation, the
windshield heater will switch offautomati‐
cally.
Switching therear windowheater on or off

Press the ¤ button.
If theindicator lamplights up, therear win‐
dowheater is switched on.

Very hotorverycold aircan flow from theair
vents.
Thiscould result in burns or frostbiteinthe
immediatevicinity of theair vents.

Make surethat all vehicle occupants
alwaysmaintain asufficient distance to
theair vents.
#
If necessary,direct theairflow to
another area of thevehicle interior.
#
To open or close: hold center 2 of air
vent 1 and turnittothe leftorright as far
as it will go.
#
To setthe air direction: holdcenter 2 of
air vent 1 and swivel it upwards, down‐
wards, to theleftortothe right.
