Combustionengines emit poisonous exhaust
gases suchascarbon monoxide. Inhaling
these exhaustgases is hazardoustohealth
and leads to poisoning.

Neverleave theengine or,ifpresent,
theauxiliaryheating running in an
enclosedspace without sufficient venti‐
lation.

WARNING Risk of fire due to flammable
material in theengine compartmentor
theexhaust system
Flammable materials brought in by either ani‐
mals or environmentalinfluences mayigniteif
they come intocontact with hotparts of the
engine or exhaustsystem.

Therefore, checkregularly that thereare
no flammable materials in theengine
compartmentoronthe exhaustsystem.
Requirements:

The keyisindetection rangeofthe antenna
(/ page43) and thekey battery is notdis‐
charged.

To switchonthe powersupply: press but‐
ton 1 once.
Youcan nowactivatethe windshield wipers,
forexample.
The powersupply is switched offagain when one
of thefollowing conditionsismet:

The driver's door is open.
R
Youpress button 1 twice.

To switchonthe ignition: press button 1
twice.
The indicator lamps appear in theinstrument
cluster.
The ignition is switched offagain when one of the
following conditionsismet:

Youdonot startthe vehicle within
15 minutes.
R
Youpress button 1 once.
