Freightliner Sprinter body/equipment mounting
directives. These body/equipment mounting
directives ensurethat thechassisand add-on
equipmentformone unit and that thegreatest
possible levelofoperational and driving safetyis
achieved.
Both vehicle manufacturersand body manufac‐
turersmustalwaysensurethat theproducts they
manufacturecome intocirculation onlyinasafe
stateand do notpose anyriskstopeople. Other‐
wise, theremay be consequences under civil,
criminal or public law. All manufacturersare
responsible forthe products that they have man‐
ufactured. Manufacturersofattachments, add-on
equipment, installationsand conversions must
guarantee compliancewithDirective
2001/95/ECongeneral product safety.
Freightliner Sprinter recommends thefollowing
procedurefor safetyreasons:

Obtain approval from thedealer named on

Acceptance testsperformed by public test bodies

engine, vehicle or equipment, they mustaccept
sole responsibility forthe vehicle. This also
appliestomarking and documenting thevehicle
parts affected by thechanges that they make.
Youare responsible forcertifying and providing
evidencethat thefollowing conditionsare met:

The vehicle complies withall relevant stand‐
ards and regulations that areaffected by the
modification.

The modified vehicle still meets thevehicle
safetystandards and emission regulations.
R
The modification does notimpair thesafetyof
thevehicle.
Freightliner is notresponsiblefor thefinalinspec‐
tion, product liability or warrantyclaimsresulting
from modification. This applies forthe following
points:

themodified components or systems
R
theresultant violationofemission regulations
or vehicle safetystandards
R
all consequences resulting from themodified,
less safeorevenfaulty vehicle
Freightliner accepts no responsibility as final
manufacturer or forthe resultant product liability.
