tendedinthe vehicle.

theSmartKey withyou and lockthe
vehicle.

Keep theSmartKey out of thereachof
children.
Requirements:

The keyisindetection rangeofthe antenna
(/ page43) and thekey battery is notdis‐
charged.

Vehicles with automatic transmission:
shiftthe transmission to position j or i.

Depress thebrake pedal and press button 1
once.
#
If thevehicle does notstart:switchoff unnec‐
essaryconsumersand press button 1 once.

If thevehicle still does notstart and the
Place the Key in the Marked Space See Oper-
ator's Manual displaymessageappearsinthe
multifunction display: startthe vehicle in
emergency operation mode.
