Eachtire, including thespare(if provided),
should be checkedmonthlywhen cold and
inflated to theinflation pressurerecommen‐
ded by thevehicle manufacturer on thevehi‐
cle placardortireinflation pressurelabel. (If
your vehicle has tires of adifferent size than
thesize indicated on thevehicle placardor
tireinflation pressurelabel, youshoulddeter‐
mine theproper tireinflation pressurefor
those tires.)
As an added safetyfeature, your vehicle has
been equipped withatirepressuremonitor‐
ing system (TPMS) that illuminates alow tire
pressuretelltale when one or moreofyour
tires is significantlyunder-inflated. Accord‐
ingly,whenthe lowtirepressuretelltale illu‐
minates, youshouldstopand checkyour tires
as soon as possible,and inflatethem to the
proper pressure. Driving on asignificantly
under-inflated tirecauses thetiretooverheat
and can lead to tirefailure. Under-inflation
also reduces fuel efficiency and tiretread life,
and mayaffect thevehicle's handling and
stopping ability.Please note that theTPMS is
notasubstitutefor proper tiremaintenance,
and it is thedriver's responsibility to maintain
