NOTE! Only use „Refresh“ modes for:
- Wet batteries that can be topped up with water („Refresh wet“)
- Gel batteries („Refresh GEL“)
CAUTION! Danger of damage to the in-car electronics by refresh charging.
Before beginning refresh charging, disconnect battery from vehicle power
supply.
Important! The success of refresh charging depends on the degree of sulphation of the
battery.
„Refresh wet“ / „Refresh GEL“ charging is to be used if it is suspected that the battery
has been in deep-discharge for a long time (e.g. battery sulphated)
- Battery is charged to maximum acid concentration
- Plates are reactivated (degradation of sulphate layer)

External power
supply mode
The external power supply mode is to ensure consumers have a power supply
- at periods of increased power consumption (e.g. updating firmware/software for the
vehicle’s electronics)
- when changing the battery (time, radio configuration, etc., are not lost)
Available modes
Overview of available operating modes. Important additional information on the individual
operating modes can be found in the following sections.
„Wet“ mode
For charging liquid (Pb, Ca, Ca silver) or fixed electrolyte batteries
(GEL, AGM, MF, sealant) used in starter or traction applications.
„Refresh wet“ mode
For reactivating batteries with liquid electrolyte
„GEL“ mode
Batteries with liquid (Pb, Ca, Ca silver) or fixed (AGM, GEL, MF,
sealant) electrolyte, used in standby applications (e.g. emergency
power systems) or at temperatures above 35°C.
„Refresh GEL“ mode
For reactivating fixed electrolyte batteries (GEL, AGM, MF and
sealant)
„External power supply“ mode
For external power supply to consumers
