7 Packaging before Transportation
I If you need to transport the library, it is mandatory that the shipping lock
and label is replaced on the top cover (see figure 76).
If you are going to send the library to the repair center, send the library
back with magazines inserted, but without cartridges, without tape drive
and without cables.
1. Unload the cartridge from the tape drive, unlock the magazines, unload all
cartridges and insert the magazines again.
2. Soft power down the library using the power button in order to park the robot
in the proper position for inserting the shipping lock.
3. Please disconnect the library.
4. If you are going to send the library to the repair center, unmount the tape
drive (see section “Removing and Replacing a Tape Drive” on page 100).
5. Remove the yellow label and the shipping lock. The shipping lock is stored
on the rear panel (see figure 76).
6. Store the lock and the label on the top cover.
The shipping lock prevents the robot mechanism from moving during
shipment.

7. Before sending the defect library back, please contact the service
department to give the information of the Part and Serial Numbers (see
figure 77).
