Please note the information provided in the "Safety" manual and
in the following safety notes.
Please pay special attention t o the sections in the m a nual marked
with the symbol on th e left.
When connecting and disconnecting cables, observe the relevan t
notes in this operating manual.
Read the information on the ambient conditions in the "
Te chnical data", Page
88 and "First-time setup of your device", Page 15 before pre paring your
notebook for use and switching it on for the first time.
When cleaning the device, please ob serve the r elevant notes in the
section "
Cleaning t he notebook", Page 14.
Pay attention to the additional safety notes for devices with wireless
components provided in the "Safety" manual.
Please refer to the notes in the chapter "
Removing and installing
comp onents during servicing", Page 71.

If a radio component (Wireles
s LAN, Bluetooth, UMTS) is integrated in your notebook, you
must be sure to observe the fol
lowing safety notes w hen using y our notebook:
• Switch off the radio componen
ts when you are in an aircraft or driving in a c ar.
• Switch off the radio comp onents when you are in a hospital, an operating r oom or near a medical
electronics system. The transmitted radio waves can impair the op eration of medical devices.
• Switch off the radio componen
ts wh en you let the device get near flammable
gases or into hazardous envi
ronments (e.g . petrol station, paintshops), as the
transmitted radio waves can
cause an ex p losion or a fire.
