Setting up WLAN access
• Requirement: A WLAN must be available and you must have the
corresponding a ccess information.
Information on con figuring th e WLAN access can be found in the
documentation for your operating system.
Access via UMTS
If you have ordered an integra
ted UMTS module with your system , you can enjoy the
best reception and maximum en
ergy efficiency, withou t any disruptive cables or aerials.
The optional UMTS module is r
eady for use immediately.
If you have not ordered a UMTS m
odule, you can purchase the accessories for UMTS reception
from specialised dealers o
r from your Fujitsu Technology Solutions dealer.
You will find information on
establishing the connection with the UMTS network
in the documentation f or th
e hardware used.
Your device can connect wit
h the Internet via UMTS. To do this, use one of
the f ollowing types of conn
ection:
• an integrated UMTS module (
depending on your model variant)
• a USB d ongle (a USB stick with your mobile phone provider’s SIM card)
• a UMTS ExpressCard (to be in
serted in the ExpressCard slot of your device)
• a mobile end-device (e.g. mobile phone with Bluetooth or ca ble connection)

EthernetLAN
The internal network module o
f your not ebook supports Ethernet LAN. Yo u can use it to
establish a connection to a
local network (LAN = Local Area Network).

Your network administrator can help you to configure a nd use the LAN connections.
The network cable is not included in the delivery sco pe. This type of
cable can be obtained from a specialist dealer.
