Using a Kensington Lock
Your device comes with a Kensington Lock device for the Kensington MicroSaver. With
the Kensington MicroSaver, a sturdy ste el cable, you can help protect your notebook from
theft. The K en sington MicroSaver is available as an accessory.

Configuring password p
rotection in BIOS Setup Utility
Before using the various options for password protection in the BIOS Setup utility
to increase data secu rity, please observe the following:
Make a note of the passwords and keep them in a safe place. If you forget your
supervisor p assword you will not be able to access your notebo ok. Passwords are
not covered by y our warranty and a charge will be made for assistance.
Password protection
Your passw ord can be up to eight characte rs long and contain letters and numbers.
No distinction is m ade between uppercase and lowercase.
Protecting BIOS Setup Utility (supervisor and user password)
If yo u have opened these operating instructions on the screen, we recommend that
you print out the following instructions. Because you cannot call the instructions
onto the screen while you are s etting up the password.
BIOSSetupUtility
You prevent unau thorised use of the BIOS Setu p Utility with both the s upervisor and the user
password. The supervisor password gives you access to all functions of the BIOS Setup
Utility, w hile the user password only provides some of the functions. You can on ly set a
user passwo rd if a supervisor password has already been a ssigned.
Please refer to the ""Settings in BIOS Setup Utility", Page 78 section for a
description of how to call up and operate the BIOS Setu p U tility.
