Owner Information (device-dependent)
The BIOS feature Owner Information enables you to enter up to 80 characters of text
which is displayed in the bottom left corner of the screen before the operating syst em
boots up. You could use this featu re for example to put your n ame and telephone
number on the notebook in case it is lost or stolen.
Requirements:
• You have been assigned at least the supervisor password.
•IntheBOOT menu, the Boot time diagnostic screen option is set to en abled.

ption Exit Saving Changes.
► Press the Enter key and select Yes.
The notebook will restart and th
e Owner Information will be adopted.
Virus Warning (device-dependent)
This field checks the boot sectors of the hard disk drive to see if any changes have been
made since the previous system start-u p. If the boot sector has been changed since the
previous system start-up (e.g. new ope rating system or virus attack), a warning is displayed
on the screen. The warning will stay on the screen until you acknowledge the changes by
clicking on Confirm or until you set the Virus Warning function to Disabled.
If the boot sectors have been changed and the reason for this is unknown, a
programme for finding computer viruses should be loaded.
Such a change is not only caused by viruses, but also by the boot manager.
This function does not replace proper anti-virus software.
No supervisor password is required to s et it up.
► Call up the BIOS Setup and select the Security menu.

field and press the Ente r key.
► Select Enabled to activate the Virus Warning function.

► Press the Enter key and select Yes.
