TESTING CHAPTER 4: SETPOINTS
TEST STATUS
Range: None, Testing, Passed, Failed
Default: None
This value indicates the result of the test.
TESTS RUN
Range: 0 to 65535 in steps of 1
Default: 0
The remaining test iterations once the loop-back test has been initiated.
TESTS PASSED
Range: 0 to 65535 in steps of 1
Default: 0
This actual values indicates how many iterations have passed.
TESTS FAILED
Range: 0 to 65535 in steps of 1
Default: 0
This actual value indicates how many iterations have failed.
NOTE
NOTE:
If the loop-back test is successful the Tests Passed counter will be equal to the Number of
Tests that were specified. In addition, the Test Status can be read to determine the result of
the test.
Steps required to initiate an Ethernet Loopback test
1. Enable Factory Service Mode
2. Write the “Number of Tests” register. The default is 500, and there is usually no need to
change it.
3. Initiate the test by Writing 1 for “Yes” to the “Test Start” command.
4. Read the “Tests to Run” register. Once it is 0 the test is complete.
5. Read the “Test Status” register. The values of 0, 1, 2 and 3 are for None, Testing, Passed
and Failed, respectively.
6. Read the “Tests Passed” count and “Tests Failed” count registers to determine the
number of tests that passed and failed respectively.
