Staff follow function
The optional Telligence staff follow feature lets staff members hear
nurse call alerts when they are not near a staff console or
annunciator.
Staff follow allows nurse calls (with normal, priority, and emergency
priorities) placed at other stations, as well as reminders set at staff
consoles, to cause lights to flash and tones to sound at patient and
Smart Staff/Duty Stations where staff follow is activated. When
there is more than one staff follow nurse call, the highest priority
staff follow nurse call tone sounds.
Staff follow modes
The staff follow function, configured using the Telligence
Configuration Tool at system installation time, is always enabled in
the Telligence System. When Telligence was installed at your facility,
Smart Staff/Duty Stations were assigned one of these staff follow
modes:
• Duty area mode: The staff/duty station annunciates calls
originated in its duty area.
• Console mode: The staff/duty station annunciates calls
originated in its assigned staff console's coverage area, which
may comprise multiple duty areas, or possibly one or more
nursing units.
Note: Unlike permanent duty stations, regular Smart Staff/Duty
Stations can also be configured to not annunciate any staff follow
tones.
