Resolving staff station problems
Resolutions to some problems that may occur at staff/duty or staff-
operated stations are described below.
Errors at staff-operated stations
If a patient, staff/duty, or peripheral station in a patient or staff room
malfunctions in some manner, the patient or staff/duty station
indicates the error by a fast flashing red Status light. The flash rate
indicates the type of error.
To resolve a staff-operated station error:
For about 8 seconds, press the patient or staff/duty station
Cancel button, or any linked Cancel button in the patient room.
Four feedback tones sound and all patient or staff/duty station
lights fast flash for 3 seconds.
Device error nurse call rows momentarily appear on staff
consoles and annunciators, accompanied by momentary fast
beeps.
Note: Holding down a patient or staff/duty station or linked Cancel
button for 8 seconds clears all calls from the room that are currently
in the system, clears associated room devices, and causes
associated dome lights to extinguish.
If pressing Cancel for 8 seconds does not resolve the problem,
contact the GE Security Technical Services Department at 1-800-
385-2639 during normal business hours.
Inability to remove presence
Presence stations do not have Cancel buttons, which might make it
seem difficult to remove presence — if you already have pressed the
presence station button corresponding to your staff level, but your
presence remains registered. Staff follow tones keep on sounding at
Smart Staff/Duty Stations when your presence continues to be
registered.
To remove a “stuck“ presence:
1. For about 6 seconds, press the patient or staff/duty station‘s
Cancel button, or any linked Cancel button.
Three feedback tones sound and the Cancel light flashes.
If pressing the Cancel button for 6 seconds does not clear a “stuck“
presence, contact the GE Security Technical Services Department at
1-800-385-2639 during normal business hours.
