The Reduce Odour function adds a
repeated vent and vacuum cycle to the end
of a method to purge the evaporation
chamber of residual solvent vapours.
In the Method Select menu, highlight the
required method, press the menu control
and select Reduce Odour. Then chose
from the available options: ↑ 50 mbar for
low boiling point solvents,↑ 100 mbar or ↑
200 mbar for higher boiling point solvents.
Experimentation will find the most effective
settings for specific solvents.

System Information
While a method is selected, go to
System Information. Data is shown for
pressure, temperature and rotor speed
control systems and for coolant temperature
monitoring.
For feed enabled systems, the re-dissolve
feature enables a measured amount of
fresh solvent to be fed into the evaporation
vessel, either by manual initiation (using the
re-dissolve method) or automatically at the
end of the evaporation process. After
feeding re-dissolve solvent, the mixture is
agitated by a sequence of spin and stop
cycles. The settings for solvent volume and
mixing duration are adjustable.
To enable re-dissolve, go to the method
select menu, select Re-dissolve and input
values for:
Rinse volume
Re-dissolve time
Temperature
The actual volume of re-dissolve solvent fed
will be accurate providing: the re-dissolve
solvent is water, the feed reservoir is
located on the floor and the system is
operating at standard temperature and
pressure.
To compensate for variables such as the
viscosity of alternative solvents, feed
reservoir location etc, adjustments will have
to be made.
Solvent exchange can be conducted by
completely drying the product and replacing
the rinse solvent with the exchange solvent.
The final drying stage should be adjusted to
ensure complete solvent removal prior to
adding the new solvent. It is advisable to
check dryness prior to adding the exchange
solvent.
As an alternative to manual re-dissolve with
automatic feed, the re-dissolve volume can
be manually added to the product vessel.
This method provides a completely accurate
dose volume. To do this set the feed
volume to zero and after loading the solvent
start the re-dissolve mix only cycle.
