System test
Rocket 4D features a System Test mode
which checks the integrity of the vacuum
system. To gain meaningful results, the
vacuum system must be dry (the vacuum
chamber reservoir empty and the condenser
drained.
To perform a System Test:
1. Drain the condenser.
2. Remove the water from the vacuum
chamber reservoir and dry the chamber
and evaporation vessel using paper
towel.
3. Fit the Inner lid.
4. Go to the Method Select Menu and
select the Batch Medium BP (or closest
equivalent) method.
5. Press the start key
and allow the
method to operate for one hour (this is to
remove any trace of moisture or solvent
from the vacuum system).
6. Go to the Method Select menu, select
System Test.
7. Press the start key
.
The System Test takes approximately 50
minutes to complete, the Screen confirms
successful completion or shows any faults
that were encountered during the test.
Faults are displayed in the form error
numbers followed by short descriptive
messages.

errors that are not described in this user
manual, contact your local Genevac
representative.
Note: The Rocket 4D System Test is a
convenient method of checking the integrity
of the vacuum system; it is not a substitute
for carrying out periodic maintenance and
servicing.
Vacuum chamber reservoir water
Fill the chamber water reservoir with
distilled or deionised water (400 ml).
During short periods without use, leave the
lid slightly open. For extended periods
(more than three days) remove the water
from the reservoir and dry the chamber and
evaporation vessel to prevent microbial
growth. Water may be removed using a
pipette and the reservoir dried using paper
towels.
