CARRYING OUT A MEASUREMENT CHAPTER 4
GEODIMETER SYSTEM 600
This measurement mode is normally used during control
surveys ā e.g., traversing, survey point accuracy control, etc.
It can only be used when using the instrument as a total
station (not for robotic surveying).
This mode measures and displays horizontal and vertical
angles and their respective differences in C2 & C1 and slope
distances with the possibility of also seeing horizontal dis-
tance, height difference and the northings and eastings by
simply pressing the ENT key twice.
Two-face measurements always start in the C2 position.
Distance measurement can only be carried out with the
instrument in the C1 position. The asterisks (*) beside the
displayed differences between C2 & C1 positions, i.e., dH &
dV, indicate that face 2 and face 1 differences are in excess of
100
cc
(ā 30"). This is a good indication that it is time to carry
out the instrument collimation measurement or that the
instrument has been badly aimed at the target, either in C2
or the C1 position.
