Forwarding System Logs
Appendix H – Forwarding System Logs
System logs are part of the PCI audit requirements not intended to be used for server-level
troubleshooting. These logs are sent to the remote log server in real time; the remote log server
information is provided by the PCI auditor. System logs from the Site Server may optionally
be forwarded to a remote “syslog” server to enable remote log scanning and analysis.
To set up log forwarding, proceed as follows:
1 Connect a laptop directly to the Site Server using the instructions in
“Appendix C - Configuring Site Server IP Addre
sses for Applause Media System (when IP
Addresses Are Changed)” on page C-1. After you are connected, click Diagnostic Uti
lities.
The Diagnostics screen appears.
