The problem you’re
having
What might be causing the problem
The standby light is
not on.
The power lead is either unplugged or the
fuse in the power-lead plug has blown.
You cannot get a
signal on your
receiver
This could be because:
the aerial is not connected;
the aerial is damaged or pointing in the
wrong direction; or
• you are not in an area that can receive a
digital signal.
You cannot get a
picture or any sound
Your TV is set to the wrong AV channel.
Check the channel you are using is the
right one.
Your receiver may be set to digital
teletext mode
You are getting a
‘scrambled channel’
message
You have to pay to watch this channel. The
signal is encoded (scrambled) so that only
people who have paid to watch the channel
can see the picture.
Phone the number on the screen for more
information if you want to subscribe (pay to
watch) to the scrambled channel.
Your receiver is
not working with
the remote control
The receiver is switched off.
You are not pointing the remote control
at the receiver properly.
There might be something in front of
the front panel on the receiver.
You may have put the batteries in the
remote control the wrong way round.
You may need new batteries.
