If electric starter switch is pressed continuously
and engine does not start, cranking of engine
will stop after 5 secs. After that rider again
needs to press the electric starter switch.

This vehicle is equipped with a side stand
engine kill feature (page 32).
CAUTION

Turn the ignition switch (1) "ON" position.
Preparation
Before starting insert the key and follow the
below mentioned procedure :
•
Confirm that the programmed FI
malfunction indicator lamp (MIL) (2)
glows continuously and then should go
“OFF” once the engine is started.

Tyres-Check condition and pressure
(page 66).
• Rear view mirror-Ensure that the rear
view mirror gives a good rear view when you
are sitting on the vehicle.

ABS indicator-Check ABS indicator for
proper functioning of ABS (page 32).
•
Clutch-Check for smooth operation.
Adjust free play if necessary (page 55).
• Drive chain-Check condition and
slackness (page 56). Lubricate if
necessary.
•
Engine stop/kill switch-Check for
proper functionality (page 31).
• Fitting & Fasteners-Check & tighten if
necessary.
• Steering-Check for smooth action and for
easy maneuverability.
• Throttle-Check for smooth opening and
closing in all steering positions (page 56).
• Side stand-Check for proper functionality
(page 32).
STARTING THE ENGINE
Always follow the proper starting procedure
described below :
•
To protect the catalytic converter in your
vehicle's exhaust system, avoid extended
idling and the use of leaded petrol.
•
Rear brake-Check for correct brake fluid
level in the reservoir (page 61).
• Lamps & Horn-Check that headlamp,
position lamps, tail/stop lamp, turn signal
lamps, indicators and horn function
properly.
•
Your vehicle's exhaust contains poisonous
carbon monoxide gas. High levels of carbon
monoxide can collect rapidly in enclosed
areas such as garage. Do not run the engine
with the garage door closed.
