Preparing to Use an Interface (Connection and Settings)
(3) Connect the RS-232C cable.
Before connecting the RS-232C cable, read “Before connecting the communication cables” (p. 10)
and “Before connecting to the RS-232C or GP-IB connectors” (p. 11) carefully.
Connect the RS-232C cable to the RS-232C connector. When connecting the cable, be sure to
tighten the fastening screws.

When connecting the instrument to an external
device (DTE), use a crossover cable that satises
the specications of the instrument’s connector
as well as the external device’s connector.
The I/O connector implements terminal (DTE)
specications.
The instrument uses pin numbers 2, 3, and 5.
Other pins are unused.
