Turning the Instrument On and Off
CancelingtheSLEEPstate
Press the POWER button while the
instrumentisintheSLEEPstate.
The POWER button will turn green.
Lighting-up in red
To make measurements at the accuracy described in the instrument’s specications, allow the
instrument to warm up for at least 60 minutes after turning on the main power switch or canceling
the SLEEP state.
When the main power switch is turned on or the SLEEP state is canceled, the self-test (a series of
self-diagnostics performed by the instrument) will start automatically.
Self-test
The following information is displayed on the screen during
the self-test:
• Manufacturer name and model number
• Software version
• Communications interface settings
• Detected power supply frequency
• EXT I/O (NPN/PNP) setting
No error found Error found
Measurement screen Error indicated (p. 176)
• The following options are available for the measurement conditions that are loaded after the
self-test completes: “Use settings in effect when instrument was turned off,” “Use factory default
settings,” and “Load specied panel.” (For more information about the default settings, see “7.7
Selecting Startup Load Settings and a Panel” (p. 91).)
• The instrument’s power supply frequency setting is automatically set to the power supply’s
frequency.

(p. 90).)
