OPERATOR'S
CONSOLE
Control
Mode
-
If
the
STOP
indicator
is
illuminated,
the
console
operates
as
a
control
panel
which
utilizes
the
typewriter
keyboard
for
direct
access
to
main
and
control
memory.
The
typewriter
produces
a
printed
record
of
all
memory
entries
and
displays.
3.
Logging
Mode
-
If
the
L
key
is
struck
with
the
TYPE
indicator
extinguished
and
the
carriage
returned,
the
console
operates
as
a
logging
typewriter
under
manual
control.
In
this
mode,
the
console
is
logically
disconnected
from
the
central
processor.
Operator-initiated
manual
typeins
and
typeouts
can
be
performed
only
when
the
system
is
in
the
STOP
mode.
However,
logging
can
be
performed
while
the
program
is
running,
but
only
at
the
risk
of
delaying
the
program,
since
the
typewriter
is
not
available
to
the
program
while
the
console
is
in
the
logging
mode.
