HP 48-port Serial Console Server components
The 48-port SCS has the following front and rear panel components.
Front panel components

1 Online LED—Illuminates
steadily (not blinking)
when the SCS self-test and
initialization procedures
complete successfully.
6 LAN port—Connects a
10BaseT or100BaseT
interface cable.
2 Power LED—Illuminates
when the SCS is
connected to a power
source.
7 RJ-45 port connectors—
Connects serial cabling.
The port number is
adjacent to each
connector.
3 Reset button—Reboots the
SCS.
8 Speed LED—Indicates the
link speed. See Table 2-1.
4 Init button—Restores the
SCS factory default values
when pressed and held.
9 Link/Traffic LED—Indicates
whether there is traffic on
the link. See Table 2-1.
5 RJ-45 serial console port.
Speed and Link/Traffic LEDs
The Speed and Link/Traffic LEDs are adjacent to the LAN port. Table 2-1 describes the possible values for these two
LEDs.
