Rack-mounting the 16- and 48-port SCS
The HP SCS ships with rack-mounting brackets for easy integration into the rack. Before installing the HP SCS and
other components in the rack cabinet (if not already installed), stabilize the rack in a permanent location. Begin
installing the equipment at the bottom of the rack cabinet, then work to the top. Avoid uneven loading or overloading
of the rack cabinets.
Install the SCS so that you can connect cables between the serial devices and the SCS serial ports and you can
connect a LAN interface cable between the Ethernet hub or switch and the SCS LAN connector.
Performing the 16-port SCS rack mount
The 16-port SCS can be installed in either the front or rear of the rack, depending on your rack configuration, and
can be secured to the shelf in the following positions.
The SCS ships mounted in the middle of the rack shelf, in the standard mount position.
