NOTE:
A storage controller option is required to support more than 4 drives.
11. Install the hot-plug drives.
The hot-plug drive cage allows accessing storage drives from the server front bezel. The hot-plug drive
cage only supports hot-plug drives. Non-hot-plug drives installed in a hot-plug drive cage will fail.
Populate drive bays, based on the drive numbering sequence. Start from the drive bay with the lowest
device number. For more information, see "Drive numbering."
12. Install a front PCI fan option.
13. Install the air baffle.
14. Install the access panel.
15. Install the bezel.
16. Return the server to an upright position.
17. Connect the power cord to the power source and the server.
18. Power up the server.
19. Determine the status of the drive LEDs.
Installing a microSD USB device option
This server supports the installation of the Dual 8Gb microSD Enterprise Midline USB device on the server
internal USB connector.
This USB storage device contains a dual-SD card module that supports up to two SD, SDHC, or SDXC
storage cards providing data redundancy through a mirrored RAID-1 configuration. This USB storage device
connects to an internal USB connector and is configured upon boot.
To locate the internal USB connector, see "System board components." For more information, see the Dual

Procedure
1. Power down the server.
2. Disconnect the power cord from the power source and the server.
3. Remove the bezel.
4. Place the server on its side with the access panel facing up.
5. Remove the access panel.
