Chapter 11 : Phone & Video Calls 139
Switch between two calls
NOTE If your connected smartphone does not have a SIM card, you can switch
between calls only if the second call is incoming.
1 Tap to put the active call on hold and switch to the other call.
For example, in the screen shown here, the call on the top of the
screen, 555-0267 is currently on hold. The call on the bottom of the
screen, 555-7233, is the active call—the caller you’re talking to. To
switch between the two, so that you switch to talking to 555-0267,
tap . Just remember to tap to switch between the two calls.
2 How you end the calls depends on the type of smartphone you have
connected to your device:
If the connected smartphone uses a SIM card: Tap to end
either call. If you end the currently active call, the call on hold
becomes active.
If the connected smartphone does not use a SIM card: See
Manage multiple calls for a connected smartphone that does not
use a SIM card for options on working with and ending multiple
calls.
Make a conference call for a connected smartphone that
does not use a SIM card
NOTE The steps in this section apply only if the smartphone connected to your
device does not use a SIM card. For information on conference calling with a
connected smartphone that uses a SIM card, see Make a conference call for a
connected smartphone that uses a SIM card.
If you make an outgoing call, you can make a second call and create a
three-way conference call, provided that the service is available in your
area. Additional charges may apply, and minutes in your mobile account
may be deducted for each call you make.
