18 Chapter 2 : Basics
Your SIM (Subscriber Identity Module) card contains information on your
wireless account. You can also store contact information on your SIM card
(see Use SIM Toolkit).
To use your device’s email, instant messaging, and web features over
your wireless service provider’s data network, you need to insert a SIM
card. If you don’t have a SIM card, contact your wireless service provider.
To take advantage of the high-speed data connection available on your
device, you may need to have a 3G SIM card. Check with your wireless
service provider for information.
1 Press and release the SIM card tray release.
2 Place the SIM card on the SIM card tray. Note the position of the
notch.

3 Close the SIM card tray.
Insert the SIM card and activate data services
NOTE In some cases, your device comes with the SIM card already inserted.
Follow this procedure if your SIM card is not inserted, or if you need to replace
the SIM card.
