Parameter
ip-address: Sets the source IP address to send the ICMP ECHO-REQUEST packets.
-s packetize: Specifies the size (in bytes) of each ICMP ECHO-REQUEST packet (excluding the IP and ICMP
headers), which ranges from 20 to 1,472 and defaults to 56 bytes.
-c count: Specifies how many times the ICMP ECHO-REQUEST packet will be sent. The count argument is the
times, which ranges from 1 to 4,294,967,295 and defaults to 5.
Description
Use the ping command to check the IP network connectivity and the reachability of a host.
Example
# Check the reachability of the host with IP address 192.168.0.100.
