After all the bridges on the network have determined the configuration of their ports, each bridge only
forwards traffic between the Root Port and the ports that are the Designated Bridge Ports for each network
segment. All other ports are blocked, which means that they are prevented from forwarding traffic.
The device supports the following STP versions:
Classic STP: Provides a single path between end stations, avoiding and eliminating loops.
Rapid STP: Detects and uses network topologies that provide faster convergence of the spanning tree,
without creating forwarding loops. While Classic STP prevents Layer 2 forwarding loops in a general
network topology, convergence can take between 30-60 seconds.
