To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
Removing and replacing an LFF non-hot-plug drive from drive cage
Prerequisites
Before you perform this procedure, make sure that you have a T-15 Torx screwdriver available.
Procedure
1. Back up all server data on the drive.
2. Power down the server.
3. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
4. Disconnect all peripheral cables from the server.
5. Do one of the following:
If the server is in tower mode: Place the server on its side with the access panel facing up.
If the server is in rack mode, do one of the following:
Extend the server from the rack.
Remove the server from the rack.
6. Remove the front bezel.
7. Remove the access panel.
8. If installed, remove the air baffle.
9. Disconnect all cables from the drive.
10. Remove the non-hot-plug drive cage:
a. Remove the screws.
b. Remove the drive cage.
