b. Loosen both locknuts .①
WARNING:
The select lever shift rod locknut (select lever side)
has left-handed threads. To loosen the locknut, turn
it clockwise.
c. Tighten the locknuts . ①
ADJUSTING THE BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH
Note:
·The brake light switch is operated by movement o
the brake pedal.
·The brake light switch is properly adjusted when
the brake light comes on just before the braking
effect starts.
1 Check
·brake light operation timing
Incorrect → Adjust.
2. Adjust:

a. Hold the main body of the brake light① switch so that
it does not rotate and turn the adjusting nut in ②
direction

b until the brake light comes on at
the proper time.
Direction

a Brake light comes on sooner.
Direction

b Brake light comes on later.
CHECKING THE FINAL GEAR OIL LEVEL
1. Place the vehicle on a level surface.
2. Remove:
·oil filler plug ①
3. Check:
·oil level
Oil level should be up to the brim of the hole.
Oil level low → Add oil to the proper level.
Recommended oil
SAE 80 API “GL-4” Hypoid gear oil
