Remote I/O Slave
The SmartAXIS can be used as a remote I/O slave by configuring the SmartAXIS as a remote I/O slave in WindLDR. The settings
can be configured in the Remote I/O Slave Configuration dialog box of WindLDR.
Specifications
Note: When communication is lost with the remote I/O master for the configured timeout or longer, all outputs of the remote I/O slave are turned
off.
Remote I/O Slave Communication State
The operating status (running/stopped) of the remote I/O slaves cannot be switched. Remote I/O slaves always perform I/O
refresh. While remote I/O slaves have no communication with the remote I/O master, they are in "Disconnected" state and all their
outputs are off. Once the communication is established with the remote I/O master, they are in "Connected" state and the I/O
states start to be exchanged between the master and the slaves.
The communication state with the remote I/O master can be checked with the LED on the SmartAXIS Lite and with the LCD on the
SmartAXIS Pro.
Lite
The communication state is reflected in the power/run status LED.
Pro
The communication state is displayed on the standard screen and the status monitor screen. For how to check the communication
state on the status screen, see “Monitoring the Remote I/O Slave Status” on page 12-9.
