6.4.11 Pipe oscillation filter
On some engines the pressure signal at low load is superposed with pipe oscillation. Pipe oscillation disturbes
the software algorithm for Pcomp detection and TDC positioning.
Remark: Pipe oscillation is a physical phenomenom that has nothing to do with the measuring instrument.
Under certain conditions the tube between combustion chamber and indicator cock works as a resonator and
produces oscillation.
Solution: Pipe oscillation filter added to the software. The filter removes oscillation from
the pressure signal. Pcomp detection and TDC positioning are working properly
when the filter is activated.
