Downloader connection
The following sections describe how to connect to CDC4.
Connecting CDC4
Connect CDC4 to the Advisor Advanced panel data bus 1, as required.
Add CDC4 as a new expander to an existing Advisor Advanced panel. Using
Downloader, follow these steps:
1. Connect Downloader to the Advisor Advanced panel. See Advisor Advanced
ATSx500A(-IP) Installation and Programming Manual and Downloader online
help for more information.
2. Select the Expander devices settings.
3. Click the New button in the selected data toolbar to add a new expander.
4. Select “At position” from the drop-down list and enter the CDC4 address
(1 to 12).
5. Set the Expander type to CDC4.
New tabs will appear on the DGPs form to allow the operator to program CDC4.
If desired, you can set up IP communications on CDC4. See the “Programming
IP communications” section on page 79.
Uploading default configuration
It is important to upload the default values from the door controller into the
Downloader database.
To upload the data from the appropriate control panel:
1. Connect Downloader to the Advisor Advanced panel. See Advisor Advanced
ATSx500A(-IP) Installation and Programming Manual and Downloader online
help for more information.
2. Read the panel configuration by clicking the Read icon.
Upgrading firmware
Firmware on the Door Controller is upgradeable in all operating modes. It is
highly recommended that the installer upgrade to the most recent firmware
version upon installation.
Note: It is recommended that firmware upgrade be performed via IP where
possible, since it is faster than upgrade via an Advisor Advanced panel.
