Angled Back Canes (FIGURE 4)
1. Remove the hex screws, and locknuts that se-
cure the back cane to the back upright.
2. Slide the back assembly out of the back up-
rights.
3. Remove the two (2) phillips screws and washers
that secure the existing back upholstery to the
back cane.
4. Slide the existing back upholstery down and off
the back canes.
5. Slide the new back upholstery up and onto the
back canes.
6. Adjust the new back upholstery to the desired
height. Refer to ADJUSTING BACK HEIGHT
in this section of the manual.
7. Secure back upholstery assembly to back up-
right with existing hex screws, washers, and
locknuts.
6. Remove the two (2) phillips screws and washers
that secure the existing back upholstery to the
wheelchair.
7. Slide the back upholstery down and remove off
the back canes.
8. Install new upholstery by reversing STEPS 6-7
9. Reinstall the spreader bar. Refer to REPLAC-
ING THE SPREADER BAR in this section of
the manual.
CAUTION
When reattaching back assembly, DO NOT
OVERTIGHTEN! Wheelchair will not fold prop-
erly. Tighten until a snug fit is obtained.
10. Reattach the back assembly to the chair frame.
DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN! Wheelchair will not
fold properly. Tighten until a snug fit is obtained.
NOTE: Ensure to reattach the back assembly to
the wheelchair frame before you reassemble the
locking mechanism to the back canes.
11. Reinstall the locking mechanisms in the back
canes. Refer to REPLACING THE LOCKING
MECHANISM IN THE BACK CANE in this sec-
tion of the manual.
12. Reinstall the cantilever arms. Refer to USING/
INSTALLING/ADJUSTING CANTILEVER
ARMS in PROCEDURE 2 of this manual.
13. Reinstall the release handle (Mini Tilt Only). RE-
FER TO MINI TILT IN PROCEDURE 10 of this
manual.
