REPOSITIONING THE RELEASE HANDLE
(FIGURE 2)
1. Cut cable ties that secure the release handle
cable to the back cane.
2. Remove hex screw and locknut that secure the
release handle to the back cane.
3. Place handle on underside of opposite back
cane.
4. Place clamp on top side of back cane. The
clamp hooks into the handle on one side, se-
cure the other side with existing hex screw and
locknut.
5. Secure cable to the back cane with two (2) cable
ties.

WARNING
The Comet wheelchair MUST be operated by an
Assistant when in any tilted position.
ALWAYS make sure that the wheelchair is stable
BEFORE using the Mini-Tilt.
1. Place the wheelchair on a level surface.
2. Engage both wheel locks.
3. Inform the occupant of the wheelchair that the
wheelchair is about to be tilted and remind them
to lean back.
4. Stand behind the wheelchair and grasp both back
canes firmly.
5. Squeeze trigger release lever to release the lock-
ing mechanism.
6. SLOWLY, push down on the back canes while
pulling up on the trigger release lever in a con-
tinuous motion.
7. When the seat reaches the desired angle,
SLOWLY let go of the trigger release lever.
WARNING
To prevent injury, when lowering seat to nor-
mal position, make sure hands are clear and
away from inbetween the seat frame and wheel
chair frame.

ENGAGING THE MINI TILT
ADJUSTING THE LOCK CYLINDER
CABLES (FIGURE 1)
1. Loosen the jam nut (counterclockwise) on the
lock cylinder cable (cable).
2. Turn the cable adjuster until the desired play in
the cable handle is achieved.
3. Retighten the jam nut (clockwise) on the cable.
4. Tilt the seat frame to any position. Make sure
the wheelchair holds the position. If the wheel-
chair does not hold the position, repeat STEPS
1-3 until the wheelchair is able to hold the tilted
position.
