2. Vehicle Paint Spray Booth Hazard: Vehicle paint spray booths are enclosures designed for the purpose
of spraying combustible or flammable paints (or other Class B materials) and conducting or directing
the excess materials into a forced ventilation exhaust system. Vapors, mists and residues produced from
the spraying operation are also conveyed through the exhaust system.
Vehicle paint spray booth hazards are protected with a combination of total flooding, screening, duct
and/or plenum nozzles. e physical structure of the enclosure and the arrangement of the plenum and
ductwork will normally determine what nozzles will perform best for the application. e following
nozzles can be used for the protection of vehicle paint spray booths.

3. Open Front Paint Spray Booths: Open front paint spray booths are enclosures with one side (or face)
of the enclosure generally open. As with vehicle paint spray booths the enclosures are designed for
the purpose of spraying combustible or flammable paints (or other Class B materials) and conducting
or directing the excess materials into a forced ventilation exhaust system. Vapors, mists and residues
produced from the spraying operation are also conveyed through the exhaust system.
Open front paint spray booth hazards are protected with a combination of total flooding, screening,
duct and/or plenum nozzles. e physical structure of the enclosure and the arrangement of the plenum
and ductwork will normally determine what nozzles will perform best for the application. e following
nozzles can be used for the protection of open front paint spray booths.
