3.2.4.2.2 Temperature Limitations
e operating temperature range for the system components used in Module Perimeter Total Flood
applications is -40°F to 120°F (-40°C to 49°C).
3.2.4.2.3 Agent Application
Each Total Flood Perimeter Nozzle must discharge a minimum of 1.78 lbs (0.8 kg) of dry chemical agent
per second (a minimum flow rate of 1.78 lb/s (0.8 kg)). e Janus Design Suite® Flow Calculation Software
will determine the amount of dry chemical agent required to meet these flow rates based on the hazard
dimensions and number of nozzles required.
3.2.5 Screening Nozzle with Total Flood Applications
Screening nozzles can be used to protect openings in a total flooding application up to 19% of the total
hazard surface area where the openings of the work area are greater than the allowed total unclosable
openings for the total flood nozzle type alone¹. e screening nozzle can protect a maximum vertical area
of an 8’-0” width x 18’-0’ height. It has no depth capability for dry chemical coverage. When providing a
screening nozzle/s in conjunction with total flooding nozzles, the total flooding nozzles must be designed
to protect up to the edge of the unclosable opening/s which are protected by the use of the screening nozzle.
Refer to Figure 3.2.5 for examples of installation.

unclosable openings is 2.25%.
