New LIB Features
The term loop is often used in a very general way and does not necessarily
indicate a Class A, looped circuit, unless specifically referencing Style 6/7,
Style D, or Style Y wiring installation.
N26
LIB-200 See
Branch Resistance
in the
LIB SLC Loop Wiring Requirements
section for
the procedure to be used to measure the SLC resistance.
N27
New LIB Features The function in the LIB does not require SLC cabling reductions as does the
standalone NCM-1 wired directly to the SLC.
N28
LIB SLC Loop
Wiring
Requirements:
For Each Channel
It is unnecessary to locate a M500XJ isolator module or B524BI
detector/isolator base as the first device on the SLC, since the LIB has
transorb and MOV protection. Since the maximum number of 25 addressable
detectors and/or modules may be protected by an isolator module or
detector/isolator base (see
Device Loading and Isolator Power Up
), on a
Style 4 SLC isolator devices would typically be located to protect a T-tapped
branch circuit of the SLC (see Figure 41) and would not be located in the
main branch of the SLC.
N29
Monitor Modules:
24 VDC Four Wire
Smoke Detector
Power
The normally open contacts of the power supervision relay, such as the
A77-716B, are held closed so long as power is applied to its coil.
N30
Installation
Precautions
The firmware chips on all of the circuit boards in the IFC-1010/2020 panel
must be part of the same Firmware Group for proper operation of the system.
See the Firmware Group file, located in the Library section of the Fire and
Security page of
The Advisor
. The file name is ifcgrpXX.doc where XX is a
number indicating the revision of the file.
N31
Optional Serial
Interface Boards
The UL Fire OWS does not provide the Signal Silence function.
N32
CAB-3 Series
Backboxes
All dimensions are in inches.
N33
Component
Placement
The NAM-232 can only be used with Release M2.8 firmware. The NAM-232
cannot be used with the IFC-1010/2020 in any Johnson Controls supported
configuration.
N34
Component
Placement
LIB-200A and LIB-400 can only be used with Release 2.8 firmware.
N35
Secondary,
Non-Fire Alarm
Current (amperes)
The MPS-24A/E is UL Listed as a Special Application power supply.
Therefore, only notification appliances that are compatibility listed in the
Device Compatibility Technical Bulletin (LIT-445180)
may be used with the
system if powered by the MPS-24A/E.
