G.3 Type Codes for Input Devices
G.3.1 Overview
This section provides a list of Type Codes for intelligent detectors and for monitor modules. The
following Point Types light an LED at the panel when activated.
• fire alarm - lights the FIRE ALARM LED
• supervisory - lights the SUPERVISORY LED
• security - lights the SECURITY LED
• trouble - lights the TROUBLE LED
G.3.2 Type Codes for Intelligent Detectors
Following is a list of intelligent detector Type Codes, which specify the type of detector installed at
an SLC address.

AIR REF
fire Y Y Assign to one or more
7351J detectors used to monitor the quality of
air entering the protected area. The air quality measurement allows
the
VIEW® system to compensate for vehicle fumes, fog, or other
particles brought into the protected area through the ventilation
system. Poor air quality will lower the sensitivity of all
7351J detectors
on the SLC. The detector sensitivity, however, remains within
approved limits (always less than 1% obscuration per foot).
Note: A reference detector still functions as a smoke detector, but the detector sensitivity level should be set to the least sensitive level—AL:9 and
PA:9 Alarm and Pre-Alarm sensitivity. Refer to “Detector Sensitivity Settings” on page 119 for a complete list of detector sensitivity settings.
