Chapter 3: Contacting Customer Support and Returning Hardware
Information for JTAC
Before you request an RMA from JTAC, be prepared to provide the following
information:
Serial number of the switch—or of separately returned hardware with a serial
number
Your name, organization name, telephone number, fax number, and shipping
address
Details of the failure or problem
Type of activity being performed on the switch when the problem occurred
Configuration data displayed by one or more show commands
Contacting JTAC for an RMA Number
You can contact JTAC 24 hours a day, 7 days a week on the Web or by telephone:

If you are contacting JTAC by telephone, enter your 11-digit case number followed
by the pound (#) key for an existing case, or press the star (*) key to be routed to
the next available support engineer.
The support representative validates your request and issues an RMA number for
return of the switch or hardware.
Packing an EX2500 Switch for Shipment
To prevent damage during transport of the switch to another location or return to
Juniper Networks, you must pack the switch securely in its original packaging.
You need the following materials:
Shipping carton and packing materials in which the switch was originally
shipped
If you do not have these materials, contact your Juniper Networks
representative about approved packaging materials.
ESD grounding strap
Safety caps to cover ports
Antistatic bag to cover the switch
