6. Attach an ESD grounding strap to your bare wrist and connect the strap to one of the ESD points on
the chassis. For more information about ESD, see Preventing Electrostatic Discharge Damage to the
SRX3600 Services Gateway.
7. Place the grounding cable lug over the grounding point—a pair of M5 holes to the left of the power
supply slots. See Figure 56 on page 140.

8. Secure the grounding cable lug to the chassis, first with the washers, then with the screws.
9. Dress the grounding cable and verify that it does not touch or block access to services gateway
components, and that it does not drape where people could trip on it.
