Troubleshooting
Running Self Test
Self tests are a series of internal complex tests that test the interconnects
between individual circuit components and assemblies. Captured data is
externally compared to expected results, thereby providing a current valuation
of the signal generators functions. Run a complete self test when initially
setting up the signal generator, after an assembly has been replaced; to verify
signal generator functionality, and prior to performing manual or automated
performance verification tests. Self tests are designed to confirm that the
signal generator is operating properly or isolate problems to a specific faulty
assembly.
Not all self tests are conducted on all models of the X-Series. Depending on
the installed standard and optioned hardware specific self tests are activated
and made available as necessary.
Run self test on an X-Series signal generator using one of the following ways:
— front panel, see “Run Self Test Using the Front Panel” on page 22
—enter SCPI command: *TST?
