Keysight Agile Signal Generator Service Guide 29
Troubleshooting
Boot-up Routine
If you are unable to run a complete self test, monitor the boot-up routine to
perhaps isolate a faulty assembly. The entire procedure should be completed, if
possible, prior to troubleshooting an identified faulty assembly. Complete each
step, taking note of any item that does not respond as expected, then
troubleshoot as described in step 15.
1. Check the yellow standby LED.
a. Connect the signal generator to a power source.
b. If the generator immediately powers up, turn the generator off.
c. Confirm that the yellow standby LED adjacent to the power button
is lit.
2. Check the green LED.
a. Turn the signal generator on.
b. Confirm that the yellow standby LED is off.
c. Confirm that the green LED adjacent to the power button is lit.
3. Verify that the front panel LCD display turns on and is displaying the
expected information.
4. Turn the signal generator off.
5. Remove the outer and inner instrument covers. Refer to Chapter 3,
“Assembly Replacement”, on page 93 for instructions on removing the
instrument covers.
6. Turn the signal generator on.
7. Visually inspect the fans individually to verify that the fans are turning.
8. Turn power off.

The Boot-up routine is only necessary IF (at this time) Self-Tests cannot be performed or
completed for some unknown reason.
