Using the Oscilloscope 3
Keysight U1610/20A User’s Guide 81
– Rectangular – provides good frequency resolution and amplitude accuracy,
but can be used only where there will be no leakage effects.
– Hamming – provides better frequency resolution but less amplitude accuracy
compared to the Rectangular window. The Hamming window has a slightly
better frequency resolution than the Hanning window.
– B. Harris – reduces time resolution compared to the Rectangular window, but
improves the capacity to detect smaller impulses due to lower secondary lobes.
– Flattop – used for making accurate amplitude measurements of frequency peaks.
