Features of your vehicle Keys
Start-up
You can start the vehicle without
inserting the key.
* For more information, refer to
"ENGINE START/STOP button (if
equipped)" on page 5-13.
To prevent damaging the remote
key:
䳜 Keep the remote key away from
water or any liquid and fire. If the
inside of the remote key gets
damp (due to drinks or moisture),
or is heated, internal circuit may
malfunction, excluding the car
from the warranty.
䳜 Avoid dropping or throwing the
remote key.
䳜 Protect the remote key from
extreme temperatures.
Kia recommends to use parts for
replacement from an authorised Kia
dealer/service partner. If an after
-
market key is used, the ignition
switch may not return to ON after
START. If this happens, the starter
will continue to operate causing
damage to the starter motor and
possible fire due to excessive cur
-
rent in the wiring.
Mechanical key
If the remote key does not operate
normally, you can lock or unlock the
door by using the mechanical key.
To unfold the key:
䳜 press the release button then the
key will unfold automatically.
To fold the key:
䳜 fold the key manually whilst
pressing the release button.
Do not fold the key without pressing
the release button. This may dam

age the key.
