Air bag - supplemental restraint system

switch or ENGINE START/STOP but

if the ignition switch or ENGINE
START/STOP button is turned to the
ON position within 3 minutes after
ignition OFF, the indicator does not
illuminate.
The passenger's front air bag ON
indicator also comes on when the
passenger's front air bag ON/OFF
switch is set to the ON position.
Passenger's front air bag OFF indi -
cator (if equipped)
The passenger's front air bag
OFF indicator illuminates for
about 4 seconds after the ignition
switch or ENGINE START/STOP but

ton is turned to the ON position. But,
if the ignition switch or ENGING
START/STOP button is turned to the
ON position within 3 minutes after
ignition OFF, the indicator does not
illuminate.
The passenger's front air bag OFF
indicator also comes on when the
passenger's front air bag ON/OFF
switch is set to the OFF position and
goes off when the passenger's front
air bag ON/OFF switch is set to the
ON position.
CAUTION
If the passenger's front air bag ON/
OFF switch malfunctions, the pas
-
senger's front air bag OFF indicator
will not illuminate (The passenger's
front air bag ON indicator comes on)
and the passenger's front air bag
will inflate in a frontal impact even if
the passenger's front air bag ON/
OFF switch is set to the OFF posi
-
tion.
In this case, have the passenger's
front air bag ON/OFF switch and the
SRS air bag system inspected by a
professional workshop.
